Mouse house

I heard a DJ on the radio on the way in today talking about finding a mouse in the paper tray of the office copier and his surprised reaction to said beast. It reminded me of finding a mouse of my own trouble one time a few years ago.

I was driving home from work one night in exceptionally heavy traffic (moving at a crawl, bumper to bumper) just waiting on my turn to get thru town. I was driving the wife's car, which at the time was an '86 Daytona turbo z. All of a sudden a mouse stuck his head out of the turbocharger vent in the hood, crawled up and over to the window and then down behind the windshield wiper.

I'm sitting in the car looking at the other drivers to see if they saw that! So, that night I got home and set a mousetrap in the engine compartment and caught myself a mouse. That'll teach mickey to take up residence in my car.

Or so I thought.

A few weeks later, I was driving home on the interstate where traffic was light enough to book along at a good clip (Thank God it was light traffic). Apparently, one of Mickey's relatives wanted to get revenge for me removing Mickey. He climbs up the back of the seat and jumps onto my shoulder, which caused me to try to get out of the car at about 70mph. Fortunately nobody was close by and I didn't wreck the car, but if you witnessed, it looked like someone was fighting for the steering wheel for a few moments.

That night I set another trap and got me another mouse!
